Tunney F. Lee Memorial Lecture Series - Making of 'The Celestials'

Tufts University School Of Medicine, Boston

Join us for CHSNE's latest in-person event at Tufts University School Of Medicine in Boston's Chinatown where we will delve into the making of Peter Glazer's play The Celestials, based on Karen Shepard's 2013 novel of the same name. The story is inspired by the historical events in 1870 North Adams, Massachusetts, when 75 young Chinese men arrived from California to work as strikebreakers in a shoe factory. The playwright's presentation will include a scene reading and be followed by a panel discussion with Peter and the actors.
